The Firebrand in book 6
The Firebrand is the airship that Navin, Alyson and Cogsley are assigned. It is first introduced in Prince of the Elves and first mentioned by name in Escape From Lucien. It belongs to the Cielis Guard, presumably as part of the Colossus Program. Its current location and fate unknown.
History[]
Prince of the Elves[]
The ship, along with its 2 other sister ships, was first seen in Cielis’s airship docks preparing for departure. The convoy of airships, after picking up their cargo and personnel, left for Lucien. While en-route, the convoy was attacked by Max and Chronos, losing a Transport frigate and the Colossus mech its carrying. The Firebrand in response, launched a pair of Silverhawk fighters, with little results. However, after Max fighting on the Luna Moth has caused an explosion, causing him to fall, the attack stopped, as Chronos followed Max as he falls. The Convoy continues on.
Escape from Lucien[]
After reconnaissance at some “strange clouds”, Navin and Aly return to the Firebrand. By the time they’ve returned, they’re already late [todo]
Trivia[]
- Throughout the book series, both the Firebrand and its sister ships have inconsistencies, visual and functional. From the size of the bridge section, to the amount of engines, what the engines look like, and appearing and disappearing of certain features of the ship (like “Cargo class”, which was replaced by a Silverhawk bay, or the ship now contains interior sections in the blip bag section).
- Based on some shots of the ship, it can be guessed the ship was around the size of a parking lot, or a store building.
