This Project Is Discontinued.

Amulet was a planned film that was set to be developed and distributed by 20th Century Fox[1], respectively, based on the graphic-novel series of the same name written by Kazu Kibuishi. Rob Edwards is listed as a writer for the screenplay[2], alongside Aron Eli Coleite.[3]

Plot[]

The film was speculated to follow the same storyline as the first installment in the Amulet saga, The Stonekeeper. The story will chronicle the young Emily and Navin Hayes as they navigate an unfamiliar world to save their mother after the passing of their father.

Development[]

In 2016, 20th Century Fox and Temple Hill Entertainment announced production of an adaptation of the graphic novel miniseries. The project had been previously set up at Warner Bros with Will Smith and James Lassiter's Overbrook Entertainment and Akiva Goldsman's Weed Road shingle, with Smith's kids, Willow and Jaden, being previously attached to star. Aron Eli Coleite was selected to write the script.[4]

Unfortunately for eager fans, on July 10, 2021, Kazu Kibuishi confirmed that the film had become a discontinued, without any unspecified reason. Kibuishi states that the rights are back in his hands. However, he states that there is still possibility for an adaption, but that he is "currently focused on Waverider".[5]
