I think Leon is just the best cause he has a melee weapon and that must be hard to fight against magic!

She's only been in one book so far, but we know that Riva is a very strong and capable young woman. The citizens of Lucien looked to her when they needed help or reassurance, despite the fact she is one of a race that isn't really trusted in Alledia, and she values the lives of every person she holds responsibility for. Even those she doesn't.
She is open to ideas and criticism as well as being able to acknowlage her own flaws; all the attributes of a strong leader and a good person.
All of these reasons are why I like Riva as a character.

I like Trellis, but I really like Luger, partly because his character development has been super dynamic and his care for Trellis and wisdom. Riva is one of my favs too and I think that M. pandra said it soooo well.
